What Should I Expect from My Doula?

I will provide continuous emotional and physical support from when I receive the birthing woman's phone call to after the baby is born. I will join the woman at home, or her location of delivery (if different), wherever she prefers.

 

I am trained in many comfort measures to help with labor and am able to stay in tune with the birthing woman's emotional needs. I will not give medical advice, or medical assistance; I respect our healthcare professionals and I do not replace nurses or medical staff.
